Medicinal Chemistry (Practical)
About This Book
Each experiment is presented in the order in which it is performed and recorded: aim, principle with reaction scheme and mechanism, requirements, procedure, flow chart, observation table, calculation, result, precautions, uses and viva-voce questions. Observation tables carry the layout, units and one specimen entry; the remaining rows are left for the student to complete at the bench.
All molar masses, theoretical yields and equivalence factors have been recalculated, and the pharmacopoeial specifications quoted follow the Indian Pharmacopoeia. Where a later edition revises a limit, the current edition of the IP prevails.
Chapter 1 sets out the common laboratory operations once, so that the experiments that follow refer to them rather than repeating them. The appendices collect the preparation and standardisation of volumetric solutions, the indicators and the reagent solutions.
