Abstract

The Pharmacognostical Atlas of Key Botanicals is a comprehensive reference work designed to document and standardize the identification of medicinal plants based on pharmacognostic principles. It compiles detailed morphological, anatomical, and microscopic characteristics of therapeutically important botanicals used in traditional and modern systems of medicine. The atlas aims to support accurate authentication of crude drugs, minimize adulteration, and ensure quality control in herbal drug development. Each botanical entry presents a systematic profile including taxonomical classification, macroscopic features (such as leaf shape, stem structure, root morphology, and floral characteristics), and microscopic diagnostic traits like trichomes, stomatal patterns, vascular bundles, and crystal formations. In addition, the atlas integrates high-resolution illustrations and photomicrographs to enhance visual understanding and practical identification. Special emphasis is placed on pharmacologically significant plant parts and their active constituents, providing a practical resource for researchers, students and quality-control analysts working with botanicals relevant to women's health.
