About This Book
This textbook has been prepared for fifth-semester B.Pharm students studying Systemic Pharmacology II (BP506T) under the new PCI syllabus 2026 (NEP 2020). It is written to be read the way the subject is examined and the way it is used at the bedside, presenting every drug on the same four-line clinical spine of mechanism of action, dose, adverse effects, and contraindications, so that any agent can be revised quickly and completely.
The organising idea of the book is that the pharmacology of a system is best learned mechanism first. Each chapter opens with the physiology or the target the drug acts on, then derives the classification, the uses, and the adverse effects from that mechanism, so that the reader reasons about drugs rather than merely memorising them. Original figures and comparison tables support the text, and each chapter closes with worked clinical examples and a graded set of questions in the university pattern.
