Abstract

The development of personalized medicine represents a revolutionary concept in modern medicine based on the utilization of genomic, molecular, and pharmacological data to provide an individual treatment strategy. In particular, the field of onco-reproductive pharmaceutics relies significantly on personalized medicine as a way to balance between cancer treatment and maintaining optimal fertility and reproductive health. Recent advances in precision oncology, pharmacogenomics, biomarkers, and targeted therapies allow for personalization of treatment approaches by considering individual features, genome composition, tumor-specificity, and reproductive capabilities. In this chapter, the concepts of personalized medicine within the fields of cancer therapy and reproductive medicine will be considered. The role of molecular diagnostics, genomic analysis, companion diagnostics, and personalized drug delivery systems will be discussed. Furthermore, personalized fertility preservation approaches based on sperm cryopreservation, oocytes and embryo cryopreservation, ovarian tissue cryopreservation, and gonadoprotection will be analyzed. Lastly, emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, nanotechnologies, liquid biopsy, regenerative medicine, and gene editing, will be assessed for their future impact on the onco-reproductive sphere. In addition, the chapter addresses current challenges related to ethical considerations, regulatory frameworks, accessibility, economic burden, and clinical implementation of personalized medicine in reproductive oncology. Future perspectives emphasize the integration of multi-omics technologies, digital health platforms, and translational research to improve quality of life and reproductive outcomes among cancer survivors. Overall, personalized medicine represents a promising paradigm shift toward individualized, safe, and effective onco-reproductive care.
