Pharmaceutical Engineering
About This Book
This textbook has been specially prepared to meet the requirements of B.Pharm Semester III students studying under the new PCI syllabus 2026 (NEP 2020). The content has been organized systematically to help students understand the principles and applications of pharmaceutical unit operations — size reduction, size separation, mixing, filtration, crystallization, centrifugation, heat transfer, evaporation, drying, distillation, and fluid flow — which form the backbone of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Particular emphasis has been placed on presenting engineering concepts in a simple, clear, and student-friendly manner. Wherever appropriate, diagrams, classifications, and concise explanations have been incorporated to facilitate quick understanding, revision, and examination preparation, helping students relate the theory of momentum, heat, and mass transfer to practical pharmaceutical processes.
